Former Bowlero exec says company threatened to report him to FBI in proposed extortion, retaliation suit

A former executive has requested the federal court’s permission to file a countersuit against Bowlero, alleging extortion and retaliation. According to a transcript filed in court, Bowlero’s vice chairman threatened to report the former employee to the FBI if he didn’t confess to leaking company secrets. Bowlero had previously sued the executive for allegedly hacking into the CEO’s email account, which he denies. Since 2016, Bowlero has been undergoing an EEOC investigation involving claims of age discrimination and retaliation by over 70 former employees. Bowlero denies the allegations.
